Is skeditor good for private music teachers who travel between students' homes?
Yes. Each student record stores their address, primary contact, and lesson notes. You'll get drive-time alerts between back-to-back lessons at different homes, with a "tight!" warning before you commit to a conflict.
Does it work for online music lessons over Zoom?
Yes. For online lessons, set the location field to your Zoom or Google Meet link. The link is included in confirmation and reminder emails so the student or parent can click it from their inbox.
Can I send reminders to parents instead of students?
Yes. Each student record has one email field for the primary contact — for K-12 music students that's typically the parent, for adult students it's the student. Confirmation and 24-hour reminders go to whichever email you put in.
Does it support recurring weekly music lessons?
Yes. Set up daily, weekly, or every-N-days recurrences. A full term of weekly lessons appears instantly. You can edit or cancel any single lesson without breaking the rest of the series — useful around recitals, exam weeks, school holidays, or sickness.
How do families pay me?
skeditor generates Venmo and Zelle deep links automatically attached to confirmation and reminder emails. Families tap the link, the Venmo or Zelle app opens with the amount and your handle pre-filled. Money goes to you directly — nothing flows through skeditor.
What about recital season schedule changes?
Tap a lesson, edit the time or cancel it for that one week only. The rest of the recurring series stays put. Move a lesson to a Saturday during recital prep; the reminder updates automatically.
Can I track which book or piece each student is working on?
Each student record has a free-text notes field for repertoire, current piece, or anything else you want to remember. We're working on a more structured repertoire tracker; tell us what you'd want.
Multiple kids in one family taking different instruments?
Give each student their own record (most teachers prefer this for tracking notes per child) and use the same parent email for both. One parent email gets reminders for all their kids' lessons.
Can I use it from my studio on my phone?
Yes. skeditor is a Progressive Web App designed phone-first. Add it to your home screen on iPhone or Android and it launches like a native app — no App Store needed.
Is there a limit to how many students I can have?
No. Add as many students as you want. The $14/month plan is flat — you don't pay more as your studio grows.
Why is there only one plan?
Because tiered pricing for solo teachers is a tax on growth. Most studio software starts at $16+ and adds a per-teacher or per-student fee that goes up as your studio does. skeditor stays flat at $14/month for one teacher, no matter how many students. If you ever grow into a multi-teacher studio, you'll outgrow us — and that's fine, we won't pretend to be something we're not.
What about multi-teacher studios, payment processing, or a student portal?
We deliberately don't include those. skeditor is focused on the solo music teacher's job: tracking students, scheduling recurring lessons, sending reminders, and getting paid. If you need a website builder, multi-teacher payroll, or a self-serve student portal, you'll be better served by a heavier platform — those typically run $16-50/month and take weeks to set up. skeditor sets up in 5 minutes and stays out of your way.
Is there a contract?
No. Month-to-month, $14/month, cancel anytime with one click from the billing page. We don't ask why.
What happens to my student data if I cancel?
Your data stays in your account for 90 days after cancellation in case you change your mind. You can also export a copy at any time from Settings. We never sell your or your students' data — full stop.
